I hate Network Solutions with a passion. Compared with GoDaddy, they've always been overpriced. But that isn't a terrible offense. The reason I classify them as scum is because they temporarily lock any domain you search for through their site.
I went to their site and searched for a domain. I found that it was available. Cool. I mulled over it for the afternoon and finally decided to buy it. So I hopped over to GoDaddy to actually buy it, but found the domain to be unavailable. What the!? I panicked a bit, searched for the same domain on Register.com (unavailable, as well), and then again on Network Solutions (still available). So (panicking), I plunked down $35 to buy it from Network Solutions. Whew.
But, being suspicious, I did a little looking and found a recent blog post confirming the scummy behavior. I then heard that GoDaddy does the same thing. But I tested it and found them to be clean.
Network Solutions = scum.
