For tires, I always buy from Tire Rack and have them shipped to a local installer. The prices are very good and the user reviews of the tires are expansive. I've never been very analytical or knowledgeable about my tires, but I'm very glad that there are people out there who are. I just go by the ratings they've compiled on the site and buy appropriately.
